The National Lottery authority has a governing Board which oversees the activities of the Authority. The Board has representation from government and some key Ministries as well. They serve a four year tenure of office subject to renewal by the President. It is constituted as follows:
Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, a native of Gyakiti-Akwamu in the Eastern Region has had a vast experience in Ghanaian politics. He was born in Atimpoku near Akosombo. He attended the Local Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools. He had his sixth form education at St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast from where he entered the Law School at Macquarie University, Sidney, Australia. He currently holds a BA LLB qualification and certificate.
Before entering Ghanaian politics, Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw founded the Lloyds International College in Sidney, Australia. He was also appointed H.E. Consul-General for the Republic of Ghana in 2003 – 2004. He is the Chairman of Mirage Royale Apartments, East Legon and Careshare Foundation respectively.
Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw was the Member of Parliament for the Asuogyaman constituency from 2004 – 2009. During this period, he was appointed to serve in the following positions in the Executive and Legislative arms of government:
• Deputy Minister - Trade and Industry
• Chairman, Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee
• Leader of Ghana’s delegation to the ACPEU Parliament.
• Deputy Minister of Tourism, 2007 - 2009
Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw was also one of the aspirants who contested and made it to the second round of the Presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party in 2014. He withdrew from the race and threw his weight behind then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo who is now the President of the Republic of Ghana.
He is a lawyer, a diplomat, international relations expert, politician and a businessman. He is also a sub-chief in Asuogyaman with the stool name Togbui Adzagba.
Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw is married with two children.
George is a Chartered Marketer and holds a Graduate Diploma in International Marketing from the London School of International Business, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from London Guildhall University and an MBA from London South Bank University.
He was awarded a Honorary Doctorate of Public Administration by the Commonwealth University in october, 2015. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, UK and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, and Institute of Loan and Risk Management Ghana.He is also a Chartered member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK. Dr. Gyamfi-Osew is currently the Director of Operations at NLA, a position he was appointed to in June 2013. Prior to this appointment, he was the Director of Special Projects from 2011 to 2013. George is the pioneer Marketing and Sales Director, a position he held from 2003 to 2011 and a former Vice President of Manet International Corporation, Real Estate Developers.
Prior to joining the then Department of National Lotteries (now NLA), Dr. Gyamfi-Osew was the Managing Partner of George and Associates, a Business Strategy Consulting firm.
He has several years experience within the service management environment with British Telecommunications PLC where he worked as a Global Finance Service Executive.
Before joining BT, he was a Group Manager with Chapel Ash Securities Limited – a Financial Services Company.
George has served as a Member of the Governing Council, Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, Member of the Marketing/Advertising/Sponsorship Subcommittee, CAN 2008 Local Olympic Committee, and an adjunct faculty member of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. He is the Life Patron of Chartered Institute of Marketing Students Association, Ghana. In January, 2010, George was inducted into the International Who Is Who Historical Society of Professionals. George is the current President/Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, Ghana Branch. George is dedicated to Coaching and Mentoring the Youth.
Mr Lawrence Dzikunu, a Chartered Accountant, is currently the Director-Regional Finance at NLA. Prior to this he was the Director-Finance and before this he also served as Chief Internal Auditor of NLA. Before joining NLA, Mr. Dzikunu worked for Ghana Civil Aviation Authority from October 1994 to October 2006 as an Accounts Manager, and then as Internal Auditor.
Mr. Dzikunu is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast. Immediately after graduation, he was employed as an Assistant Internal Auditor with the University and was later appointed as an Account Officer with the University of Cape Coast Hospital where he worked for a year. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Mr. Mote, who joined the then then Department of National Lotteries (now NLA) in 1988, is currently the General Manager responsible for Management Accounting and Payroll. He attended the Institute of Professional Studies (now University of Professional Studies) where he obtained the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Stage 1 certificate.
Mr. Mote also holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and is currently pursuing an MBA in Accounting and Taxation from the same institution.
Kplorlali Gbologa is a product of the University of Ghana where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in 1989 and Marriot School of Management, Brigham Young University, USA, where he undertook his post graduate studies and was awarded an MBA degree in 1993.
He was offered the position of General Manager Corporate Planning and Business Development by the NLA in December, 2010. Shortly after joining the NLA, the Authority embarked on an internal restructuring exercise which merged the roles of planning, business development and Sales into one directorate in order to align these interrelated roles for improved results. Kplorlali was tasked with the implementation of this decision and became the Acting Director of the resulting Corporate Planning and Sales Directorate. After a year he was confirmed in the role as the Director.
Mr. Gbologa also previously worked with blue chip companies including Circuit City in the US and Shell Ghana Limited and served in various capacities across other Shell companies in Africa.
Jonathan Annoh Ansah is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has a vast experience in finance spanning over ten 10 years. He also holds an MBA Finance) option from the University of Ghana.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2002, Mr. Ansah undertook his practical training with Deloitte and Touche – Ghana in January 2003. He then joined Cadbury Ghana Limited in January 2004 as a Financial Accountant but within 6 months was promoted to the position of Finance Manager.
In February 2008, Mr. Ansah was again promoted to the role of Head of Finance of Cadbury Ghana Limited. Through this hard work Jonathan was promoted to a Director level and then made a Board member through his efforts at helping to transform the ailing business.
In January 2011 Mr. Ansah joined the Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) and through his efforts MGL was able value its assets and various brands at a premium which helped raise some GHS17.5m in investment.
In December 2012, Mr. Ansah joined NLA as Chief Internal Auditor, a position he has since been holding.
Ms. Bruce, currently the Director responsible for Administration and Human Resources and Board Secretary, joined NLA in October, 2011 as General Manager– Administration & Human Resources / Board Secretary. Prior to her appointment with NLA she worked as the Head of Legal and Board Secretary for Shell Ghana Limited from 1999 to 2011. During her stint with Shell Ghana, she was posted to London in 2007 on an international assignment as a Legal Advisor with Shell International, UK.
She also worked for Ghana Supply Commission as Procurement Manager for five (5) years and was Consultant/Procurement Manager for Crown Agents for another two (2) years.
Ms. Bruce is a Barrister-at-Law and is a member of the Ghana Bar Association. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) degree from the University of Science and Technology (now KNUST) and an MBA Finance) option from the University of Ghana.
Mr. Tobias Aryee is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he obtained his Bsc.Computer Science. He also holds an MBA in Project management from the University of Ghana Business School.
Tobias has over 13years experience in Information Technology. He has worked with Mobil Oil Ghana Ltd as a Global Information Assistance and also worked with Cutting Edge Ghana Ltd, an IT firm focused on IT Consulting and assisting organizations achieve real value with ICT as a lead Solution Consultant. He has run ICT projects for organizations such as Unibank, Met Insurance, Oxford and Beaumont Solicitors (Now ENS Africa –Ghana Office), Office of the President, Ministry of Health and Finance, Domod and Unimax among others.
His experience spins around Enterprise Architecture, Business Solutions, Infrastructure Management, Network, ICT Security, Vulnerability Assessment and Alignment of business objectives with Information technology.
David joined the National Lottery Authority (NLA) in January 2009as the Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager and set-up the Legal Department following the demise of the DNL. InNovember 2009, he was appointed the Board Secretary and held the position until the latter part of Year 2011.
Prior to joining the NLA, he was the Head of Legal/Administration and Company Secretary of Wahome Steel Ltd. He also worked with NTHC Limited (a Non-Bank Financial Institution) and rose from the position of Legal Officer to Acting Head of Legal and Company Secretary and later with HFC Bank Ltd where he held the position of Assistant Manager –Legal.
He has broad experience and expertise in Lottery and Gaming, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Employment Law, Corporate and Commercial transactions. He had a stint as a student with Solomon Taylor and Shaw Solicitors – Hampstead, London and acquired significant practical experience in commercial property transactions.
In Year 2011 he was promoted to the position of General Manager in charge of Legal and Compliance. Following a restructuring in Year 2013, he was made the General Manager – Prosecutions and Enforcement in the Legal Department and in October 2014, was promoted to the position of Acting Head- Legal.
He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Middlesex University, London and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PgDLP) from the College of Law England and Wales after receiving certification from the Law Society (England and Wales) - London. He is qualified to practice in Ghana and a Member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA). He is also an Alumni of the Executive Education Program on Negotiation at the Harvard Law School.
