INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW BOARD CHAIRMAN OF NLA
In a re-assignment by H.E President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, Mr. Gary Nimako Marfo (Esq.) has been appointed as the new Board Chairman of the NLA.
Mr. Gary Nimako Marfo (Esq.) is the founder and Managing Partner of Marfo and Associates and is the immediate past Board Chairman of the Gaming Commission.
With a robust practice in Civil Litigation, Corporate Law, Communication Service Contracts, International Immigration Law, Alternative Dispute Resolutions, Negotiations of Commercial Contracts, Labour-related matters, Insurance, Criminal and Procurement Law, Mr. Marfo is a versatile and an accomplished Legal Practitioner.
Mr. Marfo takes over from His Eminence, Torgbui Francis Albert Seth Nyonyo who served as the Board Chairman of the Authority for the last seven years.
Mr. Marfo whose appointment took effect on March 1, 2024, convened his first Board meeting on Wednesday March 27, 2024 to introduce himself to the Governing Board.
The Governing Board observed a moment of silence to honour the memory of their departed colleague, Hon. John Kumah, whose seat was left vacant and draped in red, before proceeding with the day's business.
Additionally, the former Chief Director at the Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Adelaide Annor Kumi who was a member of the Governing Board and recently retired has been replaced by the Deputy Minister for Interior and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Hon. Naana Eyiah Quansah.
The replacement of the late Board Member and Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. John Kumah will be announced in due course.
The Governing Board will meet with Management and Staff in the coming days.
