ALA HOLDS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING.
The African Lotteries Association (ALA) held its first Executive Committee meeting in Dakar, Senegal a few days ago following its general elections in March 2024.
The Executive Management Committee meeting chaired by the Director General of the Loterie Nationale de Cote d’I voire (LONACI) who was re-elected as the President of ALA, Mr. Dramani Coulibaly covered activities of addressed issues affecting lottery bodies in Africa and the promotion of activities of the Association.
In his address at the opening ceremony, the Director General of the Loterie National du Senegal, (LONASE) Mr. Abdourahmane Balde congratulated Mr. Samuel Awuku on his election as the first Anglophone Vice President. This received commendation from all members.
Mr. Balde added that Mr. Awuku’s victory does not only highlight his exceptional leadership and dedication to NLA and ALA but also underlines ALA’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Mr.Awuku thanked the Committee and ALA members present for the confidence reposed in him and promised to use his wealth of experience to contribute to ALA’s continued growth and excellence.
Other issues discussed at the meeting were amendments of statutes, change of Headquarters, Action plan for 2024, and the convocation of the General Assembly of the Association. The meeting ended with a dinner of appreciation and camaradie, while members discussed the goals set by the Committee.
